. . . that "apple john's" (which were popular in Shakespeare's time) kept for up to two years?

Pink Lady
Medium to large sized apple of oblong shape. The delicate skin is of a bright pink color on greenish-yellow background without signs of russeting. The fine but firm flesh provides a crisp bite and is very juicy. The well balanced sweet-sour flavour has undertones of strawberry and vanilla. Keeps well at room temperature and maintains its flavour.
Developed in 1973 by John Cripps in Western Australia by crossing Lady William's and Golden Delicious.
