Did you know  . . . . . . that the most flavorful valencia oranges are known as Midknights?

Valencia

The Valencia orange is a summer ripening fruit with a thin, deep golden skin that's difficult to peel. Its flesh is sweet, juicy and contains few seeds. The Valencia is good both as a juice fruit and for eating out of hand. Blooms in spring and has small green fruit first summer which ripen the following summer. Stores well on tree for long periods, actually improving in quality.

Originated in Portugal from the cultivar Hart's Tardiff. It is named Valencia, because of its almost identical appearance with oranges grown in the vicinity of Valencia, Spain. The most popular orange today.
