Did you know  . . . . . . that pear trees can produce fruit for up to 100 years?

Beurre Bosc

Referred to as the "aristocrat of pears". Medium to large sized pear with good sweet flavour. Attractive cone shaped fruit with long tapering neck. Its skin is of a dark yellow color overlaid with a cinnamon-russet that can vary in intensity. The creamy white flesh is very tender and juicy and has a sweet, aromatic flavour. This firm and crunchy pear is very suitable for cooking because it holds its shape nicely. Bosc are especially good paired with soft cheeses such as Brie or for fondue, and go well with wine. Bosc pears ripen well at room temperature.

An old Belgian variety grown commercially in Europe and North America.
