Make us champions, too !

1,400,000 kgs of campaign fruit has already been sold !

Many thanks for purchasing our organic oranges and grapefruits ! You have not only made a healthy choice for yourself but you are also directly supporting the employees (and their families) who work for the three participating, Nature & More Growers (Emerald Acres, Sunvalley and Groenheuvel Boerderij)

This summer, the  whole world will be looking at South Africa during the FIFA World Cup. We see this global event as a unique opportunity  to inform the world about our wonderful fruit and raise funds for the ordinary South Africans (especially the children).  Through the campaign we are participating in different  social projects linked to our farms. On the right hand side of the screen you can find out more about the specific projects.

So how does it work ?

For each kilo of campaign fruit, at least € 0.01 from will go directly to one of the three projects. At the end of the championship we will publish what funds have been raised, although obviously it will not stop here and we will of course continue to support these projects long after the world cup caravan has left the country.

Newly-built football field and houses on "Groenheuvel"

The three participating, organic citrus growers (Sunvalley, Groenheuwel and Emerald Acres) have each selected a project linked to their farms that has a direct positive impact for the workers.

At Groenheuvel the focus is not solely on producing, picking and packing the highest quality organic oranges and grapefruits.  The farm workers have another passion … football. The workers have organized themselves into four teams and these teams are doing extremely well in the local competition. Since the training facilities were lagging, a new football pitch is being developed. After a lot of hard work the foundations have been laid and the grass has been planted.  The idea is to plant a hedge around the pitch and to build a small clubhouse. Part of the Groenheuvel funds will go to this project.  The other part will go to a new “outdoor” kitchen facility where the workers can come together and cook their meals. Emerald Acres and Sunvalley will use the funds for both structural improvements for the houses of the workers as well as building new ones. Finding out exactly what the employees want is an essential part of the process.   Although much has already been done to improve the living conditions of the workers, there is still a lot to do.  We will keep you updated of all the developments

Hi, I am Annemarie from Emerald Acres

The farm is beautifully nestled among rolling hills in the KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa near the village of Paulpietersberg. It comprises 200 hectares, 42 of which are planted with citrus and pumpkin. The farm itself was started as a timber farm, which was very common in the area.

Hi, I am Andre from Groenheuwel Boerdery

Our farm Groenheuwel Boerderij is located in the fertile valley of Orange River, one of the largest rivers of South Africa. We epanded the property which now covers approximately 6,000 hectares. 225 hectares are dedicated to fruit growing of which 75 of these are cultivated organically.

BlackieSun Valley management

Hi, I am Blackie from Sun Valley

Sun Valley Growers is a cooperation of 7 independent citrus farmers in the Sundays River Valley, which is well suited for citrus production due to its rich soils.  The farms stretch from Addo in the south to Kirkwood further north. All farms are close to the Greater Addo National Park, an elephant reserve comprising of 1.2 million acres of land set aside for animals to roam freely.
