Freedom of mind means the possibility to develop and grow. Education is an important part of it. On the job training is step one. But PAI takes it a step further. With the Nature & More ‘1 Eurocent for the future’ campaign, PAI Fruempac promotes a long-term educational project which benefits the local people. One cent for each kilogram of apples and pears sold goes to the local Isaac Garrido School. The school is named after Roberto Garrido’s grandfather. Roberto and his son Sebastian help out when government funds fall short. For example in 2010, Fruempac paid for a sprinkler system so that half the schoolyard could be planted with grass for the children to enjoy their outdoor breaks.
