Bartusch (like most other apple and pear farms in this part of the world) employ both seasonal as well as full time workers. The reason is because during the harvest there is a lot more work (in the field and packing station) than during the other period of the year. The seasonal workers are either locals (from the Rio Negro region) or migrant workers from other parts of the country or continent.
When it comes to respecting human rights, health and safety issues and equal treatment, Bartusch not only complies to national legislation but has the necessary certifications (to be able to supply European and North American) customers, in place.
