The "little paradise" along the river

Agro Roca has preserved a large area (about nine hectares) in its natural state, as a natural wildlife habitat near the Rio Negro. This area is home to a wide variety of plants, small mammals, birds and many insects. As an entomologist, Enrique enjoys spending time in his “little paradise” to observe bees, wasps, caterpillars, butterflies and all kinds of other little creatures. The organic practices used by Bettina and Enrique also support natural biodiversity. Insecticide-free farming is beneficial for honey bees and other insects. Using compost increases the number of micro-organisms, earthworms, spiders and all kinds of insects in the soil. Birds, bats and small mammals profit from this too!
