BioExotica's electricity comes straight from the generating station by the dam, bypassing the national grid.  Because the e the people living in the area were displaced when the lake was build they were granted this right and now enjoy free electricity.  However, the local community could not benefit from this until BioExotica built the actual powerline, which it keeps maintaining throughout the year.  As a result the village of Djakiti was able to install street lights which contributes to increased safety. In addition to this it also allows for more social interaction during  the hot summer nights.

These people also have a history of making charcoal from some fast growing bushes and trees and are able to sell off some of these throughout the region to supplement their income.  Thus  these regenerative resources are being put to a good use.
