From the very beginning, BioExotica has made an investment in time and energy to work with the local people to get to know each other with the view of working with them, rather than just be an employer in the area. Of course, given the cultural background in Ghana, it is important to work with the local chiefs and often decisions are not taken as quickly as in the Western World. This slow, but deliberate process demonstrates BioExotica's commitment to work with the local people. It comes as no surprise that a collective bargaining agreement plays a central part in this relationship.
Bio-Exotica's commitment to work with the local people is demonstrated by the fact that the company did not bring in any trained workers from other regions, but invested in the training of the local people near the farm.
