The Lake Volta peninsula is an area of great poverty with many people carving out a subsistence living, depending on small scale farming and fishing. BioExotica is the sole employer within 25 kilometers. Employing more than 100 people the farm makes an important contribution to the economic development of the area.

BioExotica is keen to respect the local culture and traditions and works in close collaboration with the local tribal chiefs. In order to adapt to the needs of the local people, BioExotica established its farm near the local village. This way they can maintain their own way of life and women have an opportunity to work for some hours in the field without having to compromise the care of their children.

Employment by BioExotica is this providing more continuity to the lives of the locals in terms of quality of life, education and medical care.
