Our business is located in the south west of The Netherlands in a region called Zeeuws Vlaanderen bordering Belgium. Up until 2003 when the Westerscheld tunnel was completed, you could only reach this region by ferry or crossing the border into Belgium.

My family have been working the land in this area for more than two centuries.  My grandfather for example was an arable farmer and my dad Gerard started in 1962 with apples and pears.  In 2005 I took over the business although both my parents are still very active on the farm. We have two children who love it here on the farm they are Meeke and Staf.

When Nicole decided to set up a “care farm” (for people with special needs) on our land, we started looking at the option of switching to organic production. Simply said, we are convinced that there is a better fit between a care farm and organic agriculture. Initially we decided to start with 2 hectares of orchards , but by 2010 all our 13,5 hectares were organic!
