Hi, I'm Frank, tomato grower in the Netherlands!

Hi, my name is Frank de Koning and I grow organic tomatoes and peppers under the transparency system of Nature & More. Wild Wonder tomatoes are my specialty. Thank you for buying my vegetables!

I own three greenhouses in Tinte, a small town in the south-west part of the Netherlands, close to the famous Delta project. This huge construction was built to protect the south-west part of the Netherlands from the sea, since we live below sea level here.

In 1989, I started growing conventional vine cucumbers and tomatoes. However I realized that conventional production on rock wool did not give me the quality I was looking for. Changing to organic cultivation was therefore a natural choice.

I specialize in growing unusual and heirloom varieties of tomatoes which we call “Wild Wonders”. It’s a mix of varieties from all over the world. They’re a big hit and a great way to bring the idea of biodiversity to peoples attention.

All my produce is packed in compostable materials from renewable sources!

Dear Sir, I would be most grateful if you could tell me the names, plus brief descriptions, of each variety of tomato in your packs of Heirloom Tomatoes, sold at Lidl UK, July 2011. I intend writing notes on their appearance before consumption. Will let you know what I think of them.
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
Best wishes

We are looking for work

Hi,
We are a young spanish/english couple that have a small greenhouse business in the north-west of Spain. Things aren't going very well for us now and we would like to move to Holland for a while and work in the greenhouse industry, preferably organic growing,in order to gain some good experience in that area.
We wonder if you have any job going as greenhouse workers or know of any other growers in the area that might have.
We both love horticulture and are very willing to learn new techniques.
Thank you,
Marta and Rob

Hi Frank, I am an artist. I use produce sticker sin my artwork. I love the Nature & More stickers and use them whenever I can find them. You are one of their growers. Would it be possible for me to visit your farm in April of 2012? It is for my own personal "artistic" interest only.
Thank you,
Luisa

Nature & More Tomatoes

Avatar Posted by Michaël, The Netherlands at Sep 14, 2010 02:18 PM
Dear David,

many thanks for your question regarding organic Nature & More tomatoes. You will find these delicious tomatoes at your local Migros store as soon as the Swiss tomatoe production comes to an end (around october). Switzerland opens her "borders" for foreign fruits and vegetables only when there is no Swiss product so we are awaiting the green light so that we can consequently supply the tomatoes from Fons (code 166) Ruud (550), Jeroen and Annie (555), Rini (184) and Frank (179)
