Emerald Acres strives for climate friendly agriculture. By using compost from green waste, Emerald Acres reduces greenhouse gas emission and improves carbon sequestration in the soil. Energy saving also reduces emissions from fossil fuel (see “energy”). The fact that no chemical fertilizer is used, greatly reduces the emission of nitrous oxide, one of the worst greenhouse gasses.
