Solidarity
Much of trade as we know it impoverishes small, marginalized producers by paying them as little as possible. Fair Trade creates a new business model, one in which consumers and business work in partnership with producers so trade benefits everyone in the cycle.
By importing Fair Trade, organic avocado’s, mango’s and grapefruits from Fairtrasa, the farm workers are ensured a fair price for their products which allows them to stay in the area, put food on the table, and keep their children in school. With Fair Trade, these workers can not only survive but create a better future for their families. Furthermore, as far as Nature & More growers are concerned, Fair Trade and organic go hand in hand. An organic customer has a strong sympathy for the Fair Trade cause and visa versa. Basically the modern consumer expects that when he buys a product that all aspects (whether environmental, social, sustainable) are completely in order. Since Nature & More growers all work according to principles of organic, healthy and fair, it comes as no surprise that many of our growers such as those belonging to the Pragor cooperative have a Fair Trade certification.
With the Nature & More “1 Eurocent for the future” campaign
Eosta promotes long-term educational and welfare projects on the farms. One Eurocent for each kilogram of the “campaign fruit” sold goes to the selected projects.
