Freedom

ITFC have teamed up with numerous partners to start the Children To School Project (CTSP). The project’s objectives are to improve the infrastructure of primary schools in the area. CTSP has since developed and now includes funding for teachers quarters and text books for the kids.

Furthermore, a food program is in place to ensure that all the students get one nutritionally balanced meal per day at school. The meals consist mainly of local dishes, and one chocolate drink. Clean drinking water is also provided to each school. As an incentive for teachers to move to the rural areas to teach, housing facilities have been built for the teachers.

And that is not all! School environments have been renovated to create friendlier educational surroundings for the students. Schools have been supplied with teaching materials and as mentioned the students have received books and stationery. To improve physical skills swings, slides, skipping-ropes and footballs have been supplied. School sport days are hosted by the project staff on a regular basis to encourage interaction between students of different schools in the area. In order for the schools to sustain these standards, ITFC is supporting the Parent Teachers Associations to build a five acre mango farm, with the income being used solely for the schools
