Javier Moreno works with indigenous people from the mountains, who come down to the valley to work in his orchard. Every year more and more of them apply for work with Moreno, because word has spread that he is a good employer. Moreno does his best to do something back for this community. Last year, Moreno has built a new school for the children of his
employees, and hired a teacher. There are now approximately 15 children,
in different age categories. Moreno also constructed 14 new houses and
is planning on constructing 50 more this year. At the start of 2012, Nature & More donated 3000 euro to Javier Moreno towards these projects, through the "Ya
da mo ase" campaign. In this campaign, 1 cent for every kilo of fruit sold, is set aside for social projects. (Ye da mo ase" means "Thank you" by the way, in the African Twi language).
