When it comes to Solidarity, it basically comes down to “looking after each other”. In everything that Sofsa does this plays an important role in the discussion.  Even the planting plan is influenced by this factor. René: “The cultivation of three different crops is in effect an economic diversity.  It allows us to employ people over a longer period of time, as these crops mature differently.  Many people in the region depend on the income from the harvesting season.  The longer we can stretch it, the better off we and the people are”
