The Lozano brothers have been  growing 100% organic apples and pears since 2005 and export all their products with Ecofrut S.A..

Three of the brothers arrived in the Rio Negro Valley in the beginning of the 1970's from Mendoza, an Argentinian city further north. At that time, they were working in the timber industry, making the boxes for fruit grown in the valley. After they arrived, they bought a sawmill and a piece of land of 28 ha.

Their original plan was to plant poplars on their land in order to process the wood. Very soon though they noticed that the salinity of the soil of the field they had bought was too high to cultivate poplars.

Looking for an alternative plan more in line with the ground fertility, they started planting pear trees in 1980, since they grow well in salty soil. Slowly they expanded the business; in 1987 the Lozano brothers bought another piece of land and planted their first apple trees. In 1990, the youngest of the four brothers arrived in Cinco Saltos to join the family business.

Currently the four brothers have about 100 ha of productive area.
