Water
For the thoroughly designed irrigation system on Lozano´s fields, no pump or electric force is needed in order to lead the Andean water from Rio Negro`s irrigation canal to the fields: For irrigation, the canal gates simply have to be opened. Then the water runs through the interconnected irrigation canals, which were all built with a slight declination, so the water gets automatically to the fields. From there, they are applied to the fruit trees per drip or spray irrigation, in order to save water.
