A paradise for bees

A paradise for bees

Honey bees are under threat worldwide, and very much so in the Netherlands. On Ronald’s farm, the bees can still find a little paradise. In the first place they have organic berry plants, which are not sprayed with insecticide and therefore provide healthy sustenance for the bees. Then there are the wild stretches of forest. Ronald is planting bee-friendly trees here, like the linden tree and the hawthorn. Also, he is installing “bee hotels” for solitary bee species (there are about 300 of them in Holland, and many are threatened). So it’s no wonder that the local bee-keepers association loves to  teach it’s bee-keeping courses here!
