Much of trade as we know it impoverishes small, marginalized producers by paying them as little as possible. Fair Trade creates a new business model, one in which consumers and business work in partnership with producers so trade benefits everyone in the cycle. By importing Fair Trade, organic mangoes from Fruiteq, the farm workers are ensured a fair price for their products which allows them to stay in the area, put food on the table, and keep their children in school.

With Fair Trade, these workers can not only survive but create a better future for their families. Furthermore, as far as Nature & More growers are concerned, Fair Trade and organic go hand in hand.  An organic customer has a strong sympathy for the Fair Trade cause and visa versa.  Basically the modern consumer expects that when he buys a product that all aspects (whether environmental, social, sustainable) are completely in order.   Since Nature & More growers all work according to principles of organic, healthy and fair, it comes as no surprise that many of our growers such as those supplying their mangoes through Fruiteq have a Fair Trade certification.

Regarding the Fair-Trade premium most of the farmers will use the extra income to provide a better and more stable supply of water for the villages, for school equipment and small village pharmacies.  We will keep you updated

When it comes to labour laws, Fruiteq works according to international and local labour laws and ensures that employees are guaranteed equal opportunities. The international human rights declaration is respected by the company.  There is an open communication between the workers and the manager Adama explains  “When there are problems, these are addressed through direct communication with employee and his supervisor. If  they don’t find solution a meeting with employee and management team is organized”
