Organic red pitahaya (dragon fruit)
Thailand
Hello! My name is Nuttapoom Noomhorm, and I am the export manager of our family business NK Freshfood in Thailand. With more than 20 years of experience in agriculture, we supply organic red pitahaya (dragon fruit) to Nature & More, grown with strong attention to quality, freshness and organic principles.
From family farming to organic production
Our family started in agriculture focusing on sugarcane and banana production for the local market. In 2008, we made a clear decision to fully implement organic systems across our farms. Since then, organic farming has become the foundation of our work, inspired by Thailand’s former king Bhumibol Adulyadej, who promoted natural fertilisation and composting as a path to sustainable agriculture.
Growing organic red pitahaya
Our red pitahaya is grown in the province of Nakhon Pathom, where tropical conditions support healthy plant growth. We manage quality and freshness by keeping our farms close to our packing facilities, ensuring that fruit is handled quickly and carefully after harvest. Organic practices allow the fruit to develop its characteristic colour, structure and mild sweetness without chemical residues.

Soil health and natural protection
Healthy soil is essential to our approach. We produce our own compost using organic materials from our farms, such as banana leaves, sugarcane residues and crop remains. Integrated planting helps protect crops naturally, while fermented plant extracts are used to prevent pests. Soil is analysed annually by the Thailand Land Development Department, ensuring long-term fertility and stability.
A farm built on people and community
At NK Freshfood, our team is like a family. Many employees have been with us for more than 20 years. We provide accommodation, medical checks, health insurance and meals, and invest in continuous training on organic farming practices. Beyond the farm, we actively support local communities, including schools and temples, and participate in social and charitable activities together with our staff.

Sustainable growth with care
Our goal is sustainable growth that benefits both people and the environment. By working organically for more than a decade, we have significantly reduced the use of fossil fuels, electricity and external inputs compared to conventional farming. This results in cleaner products, a healthier working environment and organic red pitahaya that meets high quality standards for international markets.
