Celeriac

This savoury yet delicate winter vegetable, also called celery root, is fantastic in soups, mixed with potatoes or even in salads and other savoury dishes. It's a vital ingredient of traditional Dutch pea soup.

Some interesting facts about celeriac:

  • Celeriac is good for the cardiovascular system.
  • It is edible raw or cooked.
  • Celeriac can be kept for six to eight months if stored between 0 and 5°C.
  • The leaves and stem of celeriac are quite tasty, too.
  • Celeriac is part of the same plant family as aniseed, parsley and parsnip.
